This meeting was organized by Campus France in order to strengthen franco-philippine relations through partnerships between French and Philippine higher education institutions.

Following the European Higher Education Fair on October 15, the representatives from France had a meeting with representatives from different Philippine higher education institutions on October 16, Wednesday at the Alliance Française de Manille in Makati City. 

The meeting was divided in three sessions.

The morning session that started at 10am was devoted for a round table meeting with the director of n+i Engineering Institutes, Mr. Jean-Pierre Trotignon. Representatives from Mapúa Institute of Technology, Ateneo de Manila University, University of the Philippines System, and Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology came for the brief presentation and discussion conducted by Mr. Trotignon. Further exchanges were made during lunch.

At 2pm, the afternoon session took place. Each French institution was given a couple of minutes to introduce their schools, discuss their programs and present other information that would interest their public. 

The participating French institutions were:

  3. Istituto Marangoni
  4. Montpellier Business School
  5. Sorbonne-Assas International Law School
  6. Toulouse Business School

Questions were raised by the participating Philippine institutions and were addressed in between presentations.

The merienda at 4pm served as a venue for more informal discussions between and among the institutions.

The last session of the day was dedicated to an encounter between representatives of the French institution and the president of the French Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, Mr. Cyril Rocke. 

On October 17, n+i Engineering Institutions director, Mr. Trotignon, went to De la Salle University at noon and to Mapúa Institute of Technology, Intramuros campus later in the afternoon for a personal dialogue with representatives from each school. On October 18, he visited University of the Philippines for an exclusive meeting with members of the Office of International Linkages and the faculty.

This meeting was organized by Campus France Philippines with the help of Campus France Paris in order to establish new connections, develop stronger ties and more partnerships between French and Philippine institutions, enhance easier mobility of Filipino students, and to create more opportunities for Filipino students to study abroad.
