Université Catholique de Lille and the University of Santo Tomas sign a cooperation agreement

This new academic partnership is a result of discussions parallel to the visit of President François Hollande to the Philippines earlier this year, in which student and faculty exchanges and joint research projects were encouraged.

A general cooperation agreement between the two universities was formalized through a signing ceremony held on 16 April 2015. The representatives for each side were Reverend Father Herminio V. Dagohoy, O.P., Rector of the University of Santo Tomas (Philippines) and Mr. Pierre Giorgini, President of the Université Catholique de Lille (France, who signed beforehand).

Mr. Laurent Legodec, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of France to the Philippines, witnessed the ceremony of the signing of the agreement.

The result of this latest agreement in Franco-Philippine academic relations is positively tangible. UST has sent its first batch of twenty students to participate in UCL's European Summer Program, which runs until the end of July.
