2022 Eiffel Excellence Scholarships for Master's and Joint-PhD candidates

The call for applications (for the 2022 academic year) is ongoing until 7 January 2022.

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program was established by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs to attract highly qualified international students to enroll in Master's and PhD programs taught at French higher education institutions.

With the goal of educating future international decision-makers in the private and public sectors; this Scholarship encourages Master's-level applicants (up to 25 years old, from developing countries) and PhD-level candidates (up to 30 years old, from developing and industrialized countries) to pursue their graduate studies in France. 

2022 timeline

  1. Opening of the call for applications: week of September 27, 2021
  2. Deadline for the reception of applications by Campus France (Paris headquarters):  January 7th 2022
  3. Announcement of results: week of April 4th 2022

There are two major spheres are that available in the following seven fields:

Science and technology

  • Biology and health
  • Ecological transition
  • Mathematics and digital
  • Science and engineering

Human and social sciences

  • History, French language and civilization
  • Law and political sciences
  • Economics and management

IMPORTANT NOTE ON APPLICATIONS 

Only applications nominated and submitted by French higher education institutions will be accepted.

  • This means that interested candidates cannot submit their applications for these scholarships themselves
  • It is therefore essential for candidates to apply to French schools and universities first and inform the institution of their interest to be nominated for the Eiffel Excellence Scholarships 
  • French higher education institutions preselect candidates and endorse their profiles to the Eiffel selection committee
  • Applications from any other source will not be considered
  • Any candidate nominated by more than one French higher education institution will be disqualified

 

ON COMBINING SEVERAL SCHOLARSHIPS

The Eiffel Scholarship cannot be held concurrently with the following:

  • another French government scholarship (from the French Embassy, other French government agencies and institutions),
  • an Erasmus+ scholarship,
  • a scholarship from the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie

Concerning past awardees of French government scholarships 

Students (who at the time of application), have previously been awarded another French government scholarship are ineligible for the Eiffel Excellence program, even if the past scholarship covered only health insurance.
