Scholarships from the French Government

The Embassy of France to the Philippines and in Micronesia offers grants for Filipinos. These competitive, comprehensive scholarships allow students to pursue master's degrees, doctoral programs, and even short-term cultural courses.

The France Excellence Philippines Program

The France Excellence Philippines grant is a successor of the PhilFrance Scholarship, conceived by the French Embassy in 2016 to mark 70 years of French-Filipino diplomatic relations. This initiative aimed to provide exceptional Filipino students with the opportunity to obtain higher education in France.

In 2025, the PhilFrance Program was rebranded under the France Excellence label. Subsequently, the two scholarships under the program have been renamed the France Excellence Philippines and the France Excellence-DOST. Both grants are available to students who have been admitted into a master's program or a doctoral program in a French public university.

Admissions open annually from early January.

The Eiffel Excellence

The Excellence Eiffel Scholarship Program was established by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs to enable French higher education institutions to attract top foreign students to enroll in their master's and Ph.D. programs. This extremely competitive, academics-driven grant gives an opportunity to future, foreign decision-makers of the private and public sectors in priority areas of study, and encourages applicants from developing countries up to 25 and 30 years old to pursue studies at the master’s and Ph.D. levels, respectively.

The French Embassy occasionnally offers funded mobility programs for short-term courses. In 2025, two students were awarded a grant to pursue a 2-week summer course at the Gobelins in Paris.

In 2024, one participant in the French Embassy's Cost of Living survey was granted a two-week cultural immersion trip in France, where they got acquainted with French culture and picked up the French language.

The European Delegation offers Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's programs under its Erasmus+ initiatives. More than the traditional master's programs, EMJMs allow scholars to pursue studies in multiple institutions—in France and beyond—within 2 years. This highly competitive grant often includes a tuition fee waiver and a monthly allowance.

Consult the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters directory, or follow Campus France Philippines' annual EMJM campaign on social media starting every October.
