Gaia shares what it’s like to be a 🇵🇭 student in Palaiseau, pursuing a Master’s degree in an environment that’s different than what she’s used to

Studying in France, « Ça en vaut la peine » (It’s worth it)

“Everything is different here in France — the language, the food, the people, the standard of living, the education system,  etc. When meeting someone, you say “Ça va?” instead of “Kumusta?”. For breakfast, you eat baguettes instead of silog meals. For accommodations, you pay 16,000 pesos, instead of 4,000 pesos.”

Being here makes me think that when you are in a new environment, you grow and learn.

"The differences between France and the Philippines made me miss home, but also inspired me to appreciate the best of both worlds — to gain a better understanding of diverse cultures and to constantly strive for honor and excellence in service of others.”

“So, have the courage to get out of your comfort zone. It can be hard and frustrating at times, but it will all be worth it, ça en vaut la peine.”
